POP email settings

***UPDATED***

You should ensure you have your specific server and username/password for your account before beginning. If you are on our Feature Rich Hosting, then you can use the generic server details below or your own details from the setup email.

Please note that as long as you have your DNS hosted with your cPanel account, then you can use the format of mail.youremaildomain.co.uk (replacing the domain part for your domain)

To set up your email client, use the following generic settings:

Incoming

  • Your Name: Set your name as you want it to appear in email applications that support showing your name and not just email address
  • Email address: Use any of your aliases as setup in the control panel
  • Incoming server: mail.hostsonline.uk
  • Username: This should be your pop email account in full (not forwarders
  • Password: as defined in your control panel or notified on email
  • Encryption: You can enable StartTLS if your device supports it

Outgoing

  • Outgoing server: mail.hostsonline.uk
  • The outgoing server also requires authentication; you should use the same as the incoming server for this.
  • Username: The same as the incoming
  • Password: The same as the incoming
  • Encryption: You can use SSL if your device supports it

* Please remember that if you are transferring your domain name, you may need to wait up to 48 hours for the transfer to complete and the DNS to update around the world. Therefore, it may be better to use the generic server names for at least the first 48 hours after transfer, or before the transfer, of the domain name, is initiated, especially if you do not want to lose email during the transfer.
